Teamwork makes the dream work.

McGill has joined forces with Concordia, Polytechnique Montréal, and Aéro Montréal to launch a new aerospace innovation centre, the Centre de collaboration et d’innovation en aérospatiale et mobilité (CCIAM), within Quebec’s Espace Aéro zone.
Backed by a $2 million investment from the Government of Quebec and $3 million from Boeing, the centre focuses on sustainable fuels, decarbonization, and advanced materials. It also hosts a state-of-the-art indoor facility for autonomous flight research. The initiative aims to foster collaboration between universities and industry leaders, helping to accelerate large-scale aeronautics projects.
The CCIAM, slated to open in 2028, aims to position Quebec as a global hub for sustainable aviation innovation — expanding research capacity, workforce training, and next-gen aerospace technologies across the province’s $15 billion export sector.
“Quebec’s aerospace sector is a key driver of both economic growth and global innovation. Through cutting-edge research and collaborative innovation, we are proud to help realize the Government of Quebec’s ambition to lead sustainable, next-generation aerospace engineering.”
— Dr. Dominique Bérubé
