Turns out, traffic cameras really do work.

A study from Toronto Metropolitan University and the Hospital for Sick Children found that traffic cameras cut speeding by 45% in school zones.
Given the rise in serious motor vehicle injuries across the country, the finding that speed enforcement cameras help make streets safer will be a welcome development for pedestrians, parents, and municipal leaders.
"Speed is the single most important factor in pedestrian injury risk."
