Early detection is critical for everything from heart disease and stroke to diabetes and cancer.

Research from UBCO has found that a simple saliva test can measure insulin levels, allowing for early detection of chronic diseases like obesity and type 2 diabetes.
Early detection of hyperinsulinemia could be key to long-term treatment of chronic conditions like Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, stroke, cancer, and obesity.
"This suggests that saliva testing could be a simple, non-invasive way to identify people at risk of Type 2 diabetes before symptoms appear.”
